A New Capital

I’ve been trying to write something for a couple of days. There is very little I can add to the excellent blogs I visit on a daily basis. It is suffice to observe that our government continues to operate as before. Congressional hyperbole makes me nauseous. The nomination of idiots to important government positions continues unabated. The American sheeple are following along because they well understand by now that it doesn’t matter what “we the people” really think; the government elite will do whatever it wants no matter what we say, even when it is well-said.

I’ve been watching The History Channel’s presentation this week, entitled “Armageddon Week.” I do think they should stop using New York City as their example of what could happen if a meteor hits the earth. I’d much rather they cited Washington, D. C. for a change. Baltimore would be okay, too. The idea that we could so-easily rid ourselves of so many worthless politicians would make me feel better.

I think the nation’s capital should be in Missouri anyway. It ought to be located on an island like Tenochtitlan; we could stock the lake with piranhas, prohibit watercraft, and prevent politicians and bureaucrats from accessing a single causeway to the real world . . . not unlike the movie with Kurt Russell when NYC was a penal colony. They’re all criminals anyway, or will be, given enough time in office. Plus, we could force them to do our bidding by refusing to send them food; if they really make us angry, it would be a simple matter of lobbing a few mortars on to the island as an attention-getter.

Sure . . . the costs would be high creating a man-made lake with an island in the center, but the way I see it, the new administration is going to spend us into oblivion anyway. We should at least get something out of it. Now I grant you, my imagination is running wild and vivid though it may be I’m sure there are better ideas. Feel free to leave a few suggestions and I’ll have my first sergeant start working on them.
